Amazing Summer Reads for Black Girls by Black Girls: Summer ’17 Edition

I Love a Good Summer Read and These are My Favorites This Year

I love the summer. I love all the things we just naturally do when the days are long and the sun is high like getting outside, eating lighter food and lazing by the pool with a good summer read. Summer reads themselves are special, it’s a time where we luxuriate in narratives that are exciting, fun and fictional. My favorite type of summer reading is chic lit…the good kind. I love books written by women, for women, and about women. Over the years I have read plenty so naturally,  I wanted to share some of my favorites with you.
